Pursuit United Double Oaked Bourbon
Pursuit Spirits | 108 Proof | NAS
Nose: heavy, heavy, heavy butterscotch and vanilla icing. Extremely sweet.
Palate: This was my first drink of the day so initially a strong alcohol presence. Then waves of charred oak that is very intense on the tongue. Second taste is a crazy amount of butterscotch, sweet vanilla cream and faint hint of spice from the oak presence and maybe a touch of maple syrup.
Finish: Medium-long with sweet oak and vanilla
Conclusion: This bottle makes me want a stack of pancakes with lots of butter. It is a dessert bottle that comes with a countering oak spice that somehow balances the pendulum between too sweet and over-oaked. This is what I think of when I hear the term “Honey Barrel.”
